Well photo a day is complete. For the moment anyway. It’s time to get back into painting and while I’ve enjoyed taking a photo here and there ( and actually getting to know my camera) it’s taking away precious painting time. Some of my favourite photos I’ll include in this blog post.

But getting back to my painting project. A Collage A Week! That’s my inspiration. Then a painting will follow. I’ve had this project in the wings for a number of years and now is the time.  I’m feeling rather excited about it. Two weeks ago I fell into painting a  photograph by the well known photographer Dianne Arbus. This triggered my resolve to pursue A Collage A Week. So stay tuned.

Also I’ve been watching a great documentary by an English artist Grayson Perry. I recommend it completely as an interesting peek into the class structure of English society (and perhaps there is similarity in Australia) . But the exquisite tapestries he creates from this research is amazing. They are colourful quirky views of humanity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5Ra13rcd0s This link takes you to the middle class documentary. Below is the Grayson Perry tapestry for the middle classes. (For me I would say the confused class).

Well best get on with the actual task of making art…
